Canon and Blue Ridge Workshops have set up a three (3) day workshop that will enhance your knowledge and capabilities with Canon Digital Slr cameras, lenses, and flashes. You will have an opportunity as a Canon owner and user to learn more about your cameras and try a variety of lenses that will grow your skills in all catagories of photography.

Barbara Ellison is a premier Canon Professional Technical Representative and she is going to be your primary class instructor for 3 days covering your cameras and their menus and button controls. She will teaching you how to optimize your camera and what setting are best for your particular Canon camera.
She of course will be going over lenses, accessories as well as photographic technique in regards to proper control of aperture and shutter speeds which enable you control the appearance of your images.
We shall have plenty of shooting time in the field as well as indoors in the beautuful surroundings of the Shenandoah mountains and country side.
There will be three (3) critiques at which time Barbara will discuss the good and the ways of making good excellent.

Barbara Ellison has been fortunate to be able to combine four of her loves: art, photography, gardening and teaching.
An avid gardener, she began photographing flowers when her husband, Michael Kovach opened an orchid nursery.
Barbara has taught photography workshops at various workshops on the East Coast and continues to instruct individuals in hand coloring techniques and digital applications, specializing in alternative substrates.
In addition to judging several photography exhibits, her work is published in the books, “Digital Photo Art” by Theresa Airey and books by Patrick Rice titled “Professional Techniques for Black and White Digital Photography” and “Digital Infrared Photography”.
Her pastel enhanced orchids were featured in an article in the August 2005 edition of the online magazine “digitaljournalist.org” as well as in the recent publication of “Great Output” magazine. Barbara has shown in OH, MD, FL and most recently at the PhotoPlus Show in NYC.

She currently resides with her husband, three dogs and a cat in Goldvein, Virginia.
